Halle Berry Gets the Ring, No Plans For a Wedding

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

>

Lovely and pregnant Halle Berry has no plans to marry but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t get diamonds. Her boyfriend, Versace model and restaurateur Gabriel Aubry has reportedly given her $10,000 Cartier eternity ring to symbolize their commitment. The ring is composed of pavé-set diamonds in platinum. Berry and Aubry are also a bit non-traditional in that they share a bi-coastal relationship, he’s based in New York and she is based in Los Angeles. Berry is due to give birth in the spring.

Charming Baby Safety Pin

I’m in love with all of Jeanine Payer’s creations for baby, although not all of them seem entirely practical (a pendant necklace for a baby? Hmmm). This sterling silver Baby Safety Pin is my favorite, consisting of 3 oval charms threaded onto a sterling diaper pin, each offering part of the darling quote by Henry David Thoreau: “The material was pure, and his art was pure; how could the result be other than wonderful?” The whole thing measures just 1 …

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

>

I love a good mystery, and the story of the theft of the Irish Crown Jewels is definitely an interesting one. Jerome Reilly for the Irish Independent reports that historical researcher Sean J. Murphy is set to publish his findings on the 100-year-old theft. The jewels, which are made of rubies, emeralds and Brazilian diamonds, were the regalia, or insignia, of the Order of St Patrick and were stolen from a safe in Dublin Castle. The jewels, which would be worth around one million euros today, were taken from the safe …
