Betsey Johnson Heart Satin Clutch, Handbag of the Day

Friday, April 27th, 2007

A cross between something you would find at Delia’s and at Nordstroms. It is hard to say which is more appropriate. I can respect the wild and fun nature side of Betsey’s Johnson design style and sometimes it works for me and other times I feel bewildered. I am feeling more bewildered. Johnson’s Heart Satin Clutch is adorned with heart shaped sequins and features a chain shoulder strap. This could be cute for …

Be on the lookout this month at your local Barneys for the latest handcrafted leather handbag designs from Marjori Seril. Her newest line, intended to appeal to the “Stealth Wealth” consumer, in her words are “for individuals who can afford it, but aren’t necessarily into flash, obvious logos or status symbols.” The designs are understated but edgy, all are hand sewn and crafted right in Los Angeles, and many have been seen with celebrities such as Angelina Jolie at various high-profile events.

It also has a detachable shoulder strap. The bag sells for £625 but is unfortunately currently out …

Depending on your own personal style, they most likely appeal to earthier types who care about their appearance and want something nice, but also like the comfortable and natural “lived in” look. To me they nicely communicate two things: “I’m successful” and “I’m not stuffy.” Not an entirely easy thing for a bag to do.
