Tiffany Hearts Lock Pendant

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Instead of opting for the cliche “key to your heart” type of pendant, Tiffany is offering the lock itself as a beautiful pendant for Valentine’s Day. This Hearts Lock Pendant is made of 18K white gold (also available in 18K yellow gold) and features a heart-shaped set of round brilliant-cut diamonds embedded in the front of the lock. The total weight of the diamonds is .12-carats. The lock is suspended from a 16-in. long white gold chain. Price: $1,500.

Gucci New Britt Medium Hobo, Handbag of the Day

This new Britt Medium Hobo from Gucci is part of the designer’s most recent collection, a fairly casual bag that is good for everyday use. The bag is made primarily of fabric bearing the beige/ebony Gucci logo pattern, but is trimmed in white leather. There is a gold-tone GG detail on the bottom front of the bag, where a bit of the trim has been raised to highlight it. The bag has a zip top, a flat shoulder strap and measures 12.5″H x 14″L x 1.75″W. Price $550.

Cole Haan Large Drawstring Tote, Handbag of the Day

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

The Large Drawstring Tote from Cole Haan is a great choice for a weekend bag, as it is more than large enough to hold a change of clothes for a quick overnight, though it will certainly work well as a casual day bag, as well. Made of soft leather in either burnt orange/tan (pictured) or black, the bag measures 20″W x 11″H x 8″D and has thick, flat shoulder straps that make it comfortable to carry. It has a drawstring at the top, as well as a small snap closure, and a fabric lining. Price: $425.

A Southern California restaurant has found a unique way to drum up Valentine’s Day business. The Anaheim White House is giving away a $10,000 diamond and sapphire necklace to one special guest of the restaurant. The restaurant is offering a special prix fixe menu the week of February 8-14 and will give away a pink sapphire and diamond heart necklace worth $1,000 each night, presenting the $10,000 necklace to one patron chosen at random from the computerized …

The necklace, which I spotted in the February issue of W but which also appeared in the October issue of InStyle is a big rubellite tourmaline set with diamond rondels. No problem there. The problem is that it is strung on rope. Silk rope, but rope nevertheless. The necklace sells for $50,000. Does this seem like lunacy to anyone else, …
