This new Britt Medium Hobo from Gucci is part of the designer’s most recent collection, a fairly casual bag that is good for everyday use. The bag is made primarily of fabric bearing the beige/ebony Gucci logo pattern, but is trimmed in white leather. There is a gold-tone GG detail on the bottom front of the bag, where a bit of the trim has been raised to highlight it. The bag has a zip top, a flat shoulder strap and measures 12.5″H x 14″L x 1.75″W. Price $550.

Cole Haan Large Drawstring Tote, Handbag of the Day

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

The Large Drawstring Tote from Cole Haan is a great choice for a weekend bag, as it is more than large enough to hold a change of clothes for a quick overnight, though it will certainly work well as a casual day bag, as well. Made of soft leather in either burnt orange/tan (pictured) or black, the bag measures 20″W x 11″H x 8″D and has thick, flat shoulder straps that make it comfortable to carry. It has a drawstring at the top, as well as a small snap closure, and a fabric lining. Price: $425.

They are made of heavy, white cotton canvas and have an open top, so they are best for casual uses, such as carrying things to the gym or the beach. There is a zip pocket on the inside so that you can keep keys and other small items together. The bag measures …

The problem is that it is strung on rope. Silk rope, but rope nevertheless. The necklace sells for $50,000. Does this seem like lunacy to anyone else, …
